Write the equation of a line that has a slope of 2 and goes through (3,-4).

First, start with the basic line equation:
y = mx + b
Then, fill in what you know.
-4 = 2(3) + b
Solve for b
-4 = 6 + b
-6   -6
-10 = b
Now you have your equation:
y = 2x - 10
