3|2x - 2| + 6 = 18
3|2x - 2| = 12 - subtract 6
|2x - 2| = 4 - divide by 3
2x - 2 = 4. 2x - 2 = -4
2x = 6. 2x = -2
x = 3. x = -1
so B is the answer
