f(4)

so

For x=4

substitute in the expression above

f(4) = |4| – 4

f(4)=4-4

f(4)=0

Part c

f(a+4)

so

For x=(a+4)

substitute

f(a+4) = |(a+4)| – 4

f(a+4)=a+4-4

f(a+4)=a
